Severe Weather Policy

Since stormy weather is not uncommon in Murfreesboro, there will be times when prudence will lead us to cancel a scheduled church event. Should severe weather threaten our area, the ministerial staff will consult and decide whether or not to close the church. This decision will be made as soon as possible
before the scheduled event.

NOTE: In all cases, please use your personal discretion to determine if it is safe for you to leave your home and travel to church. Do not place yourself or your family in danger by driving outside your comfort zone. We will make the necessary adjustments to fill any ministry vacancies that may occur should we
decide to remain open with the threat of severe weather; however, the programming may look different.

Sunday Mornings: In the event of inclement weather, a decision about canceling Sunday morning services/activities will be made no later than 7:00 a.m. that morning. Please check the sources below for cancelation information.

Wednesday Evening: If severe weather concerns develop during the day, a decision will be made by 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday afternoon for that evening’s activities. Please check the sources below for cancelation information.

Other Scheduled Events/Activities: For any other meetings, events, and Bible studies scheduled during the week, a decision will be made no less than two (2) hours prior to the event. Please check the sources below for cancellation information.

Cancellation Postings: Check these sources to find out if a Belle Aire Baptist

Church event has been canceled:
• Our website - www.belleaire.org
• The Belle Aire Facebook page
• Our voicemail - 615-890-6977

In addition, the preschool, children and youth departments will attempt to call or send a text message to all teachers alerting them of any cancelations.

Wednesday Fellowship Meal Policy Forecasted storms present a real dilemma for our kitchen staff because meal preparation normally begins
on Tuesday or at the very latest early Wednesday morning—long before we would typically make the decision to cancel Wednesday activities. It is very expensive, not to mention wasteful, to prepare a meal and then have to throw it out because the church was closed.

To minimize the potential loss, we have established the following policy: Church Closed: Obviously, there will be no meal if Wednesday night activities are canceled.

County or City Schools Closed: If Rutherford County or Murfreesboro city schools are closed or will be closing early due to severe weather, there will not be a meal even if church activities have not been canceled.

This is a year round policy. (All reservations will roll over to the following
week unless notified otherwise.)

Questionable Weather: If the threat of severe weather is real but the city schools remain open and we decide not to cancel Wednesday night activities, then a low-cost or freezer-friendly meal will be served.
